The sixth and 7th grade math classes are delivered through the Iready curriculum, which includes both digital and (primarily) in person instruction. The in-class instruction will work the students through the curriculum in an integrated and experiential method; the online component gives students lessons to accomplish at their particular level. An emphasis will also be placed upon learning our basic facts and going above and beyond with challenges and challenge problems (Math Olympiads, 24 game, logic puzzles, Ken-Ken challenges, etc).
Algebra is a course which is available for students who have been identified by their seventh grade math teachers through a combination of their results in standardized testing and classroom assessment. Students who succeed in the class will receive credit for the course at the high school level (East/West-those going to other schools may need to be in touch.)
8th grade religion begins the year looking at morality through the lens of the commandments and the beatitudes. The last two-thirds of the year is about Church history, examining the last two-thousand years from Pentecost to Pope Francis.
